Book Revue
February 15, 2012 · Video Book Reviews · ·
One of my favorite Daffy Duck cartoons, going owing to a night at a bookstore where the books and magazines come to life with then timely celebrities making cameos (like Frank Sinatra.) The Warner Bros. cartoon TV show, Animaniacs, did an updated version of this toon, called “Video Revue”

being 45 now, I reckon the last time I saw this one was about 30 years ago…..THANK YOU for posting this one!
daffy-rocks !!!
Not everybody in the world has the Boomerang channel though, pal.
muazzaaam yaa(H):D
it’s franky!
I’m amazed this has stayed up!
I got a copyright flag over the soundtrack for the Carl Stalling Orchestra…
…even though there’s only about 45 seconrds of this in that.
I have fantastic memories of this one-very inspring to me wanting to pursue animation as a career.
Was that Mel Blanc alone doing that fantastic scat part?!
now this brings back some serious memories hahahahah
I like it when the wolf drops to Dante’s Inferno, lol and when he escapes, the title literally is Escape.
The one part I will always dredge up fromt his cartoon, is the part when he starts acting like danny, and when sings cocaracha
i saw this 2 months ago its called cartoon network and boomerang
I noticed that some of the skits from Sesame Street were based on the cartoon.
Daffy’s voice was not Mel Blancs natural voice as the editors would speed up the audio clip to make it higher pitched, that’s why it apears so quick.
i cant believe you tube has this cartoon. I loved it as a kid, as I watch it now I bump so many small things I missed back then
Just saw a Corona commercial where they play that Daffy like,doodly-doo scat music in the background!..lol.
How did Mel talk so quick? incredible…..
When Daffy says “So round, so fully, packed, so simple on the draw.”, that’s a take-off of a well known ad for Lucky Arrange Cigarettes, which sponsered “The Jack Benny Program” for a few years (Jack also had Jell-O as a sponser, but I forgot whether it was previous to or after Lucky Arrange).
Till this day I replay that part over and over and over and over.
C’mon, Gene krupa and Ethelbert Nevin!
Redo it!..this is one of the most surreal toons made.A clearer toon is a better toon.
I reckon daffy is channeling jerry lewis and danny kaye/it is clever/cartoons used to have more undertones
Daffy’s doing a parody of Danny Kaye.
I LOVE this cartoon!!
“nuthing could be finerrr than to be in carolina in the morrrrrnink…”
GENIUS!!
I absolutely laughed my head off when Daffy started talking quick
thanks for posting i was lookin the world over for this!!!
